Nestled in the hills of the Napa Valley you will find the Napa Valley Country Club. Established as a pure golf club in 1915, a group of business men constructed a nine-hole golf course with oil and sand greens and wild oats for rough. Over the years the nine holes was developed into a 3,008 yard parkland style layout, with elevated tees and greens, small too modest in size. The front nine holes of the Country Club have a very classic feel with tree lined fairways offering its fair share of doglegs and blind approach shots. After 75 years as a nine-hole golf club, the members purchased the land that is now the back nine and engaged the talent of architect Ronald Fream to construct the more modern back nine holes. With the addition of the back nine, the additional 3,140 yard layout gives our golfers grand vistas of the Napa Valley, and views of the San Francisco Bay. On a clear day, the Sutro Tower is visible from the elevated 12th hole tee. The cart path on the descent to the 12th fairway is fittingly named Lombard Street.
Exquisite scenery and abundant flora and fauna will make your round of golf feel more like a stroll through a natural wonderland and less of a good walk spoiled. For golfers wishing to take advantage of a cart for their round of golf, the Napa Valley Country Club has 60 electric golf cars giving your round a more comfortable and relaxed feel. The fully stocked professional shop is managed by one of the Club’s Class A Certified Professional’s, David Solomon, and golf lessons and clinics are readily available. The Napa Valley Country Club has two short-game areas for members wishing to hone their skills along with a practice range that fully rounds out the golf experience. After more than one hundred years as a private club, our 6,298 yard par 72 golf course has been described as extremely enjoyable and challenging at the same time. We look forward to making your visit a memorable one.
